Marsha is a certified WV Master Gardener and a member of the Eastern Panhandle Beekeepers Association. Put The Garden In Your Teacup (3pm) • Presenter: Judy Larkin, The Tea Lady
Since the Camellia Sinensis plant (tea) was discovered over 5000 years ago, tea drinkers have been adding flavorings to enhance its taste However, these days many teas are flavored with artificial, chemically-based agents. The Tea Lady will demonstrate how to create naturally scented or flavored blends by using the flowers and plants growing in your own garden. Judy Larkin is a proud member of the specialty tea institute and is one of twenty-three people, world-wide, who have earned the title of Certified Tea Professional from the Specialty Tea Institute. She has participated in U.S. Trade Delegations to Sri Lanka, India, and China where it was possible to study tea cultivation in the world's top tea producing nations. Last year, she visited Sri Lanka and Nilgiri Tea Region in Southern India. An avid garderner from early childhood, Ms. Larkin became a master gardener in 1985. She has adopted much of what she learned in the tea fields of the world to her own gardens. www.LarkinTea.com
